Link Trello, and let Homie help your team out there too. No more stale tasks, tasks with missing info, or missed comments.

Setup

Go into Settings > Trello and select Install Trello App to get started. You will be redirected to the Trello page where you can install Homie app to your workspace.

Once installed, you’ll need to tell Homie which lists to use for tasks:

• List for new tasks - where new tasks go.

• List for closed tasks - where completed tasks go.

Quickly Create Tasks

Once Trello has been connected, you can now use Message Shortcuts in Slack to quickly summarize, and create Trello tasks.

Click the three dots, and select Create Trello task.

If you don’t see the three dots, select More

Click the three dots on a message (more actions), and select ‘Create Trello task’

If you don’t see the issue, select ‘More message shortcuts’, and search for ‘create trello task’:

Homie will then summarize the conversation, create a Trello task, and reply with a link to the created task.

Homie automatically creates a task in the list specified in your settings. To choose a different Trello list, you can set from Settings > Trello in your Homie’s settings.

Link PRs to Tasks

Homie brings the ability to auto-close tasks when a PR is merged! To link a task, simply use one of the GitHub keywords followed by a link to a trello card.

For example:

closes <https://trello.com/>...

Now, when this PR is merged, Homie will automatically move the card to the completed List you specified in your settings.

If you ask Homie to generate a PR summary, it will even fetch the Trello task, and add it to the context to provide more relevant summaries.
